Nine denies changes to Block judges

Network says magazine rumours about supposed changes to judging team are fake news.

A magazine this week claimed that changes are afoot for The Block judges -but Nine says otherwise.

Woman’s Day referred to rumours producers are plan to replace them with fresh faces for next season.

“Shaynna feels betrayed she’s not had a say,” an unnamed source even suggested. “She’s put her heart and soul into the series and feels like she’s about to be kicked to the curb and replaced by a new face.”

It went on to claim Scott Cam was losing sleep over the proposal.

“He loves the current panel and would love it to stay the same but he also knows some new faces can bring a new energy to the series and lift it,” said source continued. “He feels really awkward around the other judges now, especially Shaynna, because he’s been party to the plans and feels torn. It’s been very stressful for him.”

But with the show currently rating through the roof, TV Tonight checked with Nine as to the veracity of the claims.

Nine promptly shut the down saying there was no truth to the article.

Woman’s Day yesterday also tipped Jamie Durie to host Changing Rooms. Reports have since confirmed Natalie Bassingthwaighte as host.

    1. Ronnie/Georgia won 5 out of 8 rooms, but did not even make reserve at auction
    2. Hayden/Sara lost 5 out 8 rooms bur won the auction
    Channel Nine,. get rid of these incompetent judges. They have no clue

  2. These judges have caused a lot of people to turn the show off, particularly Shaynna. But The Block has shown its inability to change anything, so don’t expect any relief anytime soon. The audiences now find comfort in the familiarity of these judges being so out of touch with real life, and the renovations being illogical and impractical.

  6. Firstly I would never believe anything Womans Day or New Idea reported on. Secondly, the show would get crucified if they had Ronnie and Georgia as judges. They would have to be the most disliked couple ever on The Block.

  8. Woman’s Day as a credible source? I doubt it, though I did think Jamie would have been a good fit for Changing Rooms. The Block’s judges are all synonymous with the show. Name a judge on House Rules apart from the dreadful Brit.

  9. Another reason people shouldn’t buy those woeful magazines! And it would be extremely risky to replace those big names. It’s because of those names (particularly Shaynna) that I have been tuning in. I generally only watch the reveal show so if there was any truth to the rumour I would be unlikely to watch it.
