ABC has picked up the rights for the Season 9 of Vera, and will have the Australian premiere in 2019.
The UK drama, starring Brenda Blethyn, has previously enjoyed season debuts on Pay TV.
It is one of several drama acquisitions confirmed by ITV.
Seven has picked up Cleaning Up starring Sheridan Smith as a working class mother who deals in insider trading, plus 4 part miniseries Hatton Garden which documents a 2015 £14million jewellery heist. It stars Timothy Spall.
SBS has Scandi-drama Greyzone about a brilliant drone engineer taken hostage, which is due in November.
Ruth Berry, Managing Director, ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said: “We aim for our rich and diverse catalogue to contain something for everyone, and these scripted deals, which represent just a fraction of the business done by our global sales team over the past few months, are evidence of the international appeal of our shows.
“From the new exciting shows launched over the past 12 months, to our internationally proven returnable series, our reputation for high-quality, audience winning drama is there for all to see and we will continue to work closely with our brilliant creative partners to maintain it.”

I did not watch Vera at first….now I love it…even in repeats.
Yes!! Fantastic news.
Meanwhile what’s happening with series 8?! Hasn’t aired on Foxtel yet either…
13th Street haven’t aired S8 and are obviously trying to off load it. The ABC has bought the first run rights to S9 but not S8. The ABC will probably air cheaper repeat rights of S8, when it becomes available (as they have been doing), then continue in S9.
