Production underway on Lego Masters

Nine host Hamish Blake is joined by Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught -the Southern Hemisphere’s only 'Lego-certified professional.'

Production commenced today in Melbourne on Lego Masters for Nine.

The Endemol Shine Australia sees 8 pairs of Lego lovers challenged on their design and storytelling skills, testing how they think on their feet with hours of intricate building.

With 2.5 million Lego bricks at their fingertips, the team who consistently impresses will walk away with $100,000 and  a Lego trophy.

Hamish Blake is hosting, assisted by judge and expert Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught -the Southern Hemisphere’s only ‘Lego-certified professional.’

Michael Healy, Director of Television for Nine, said: “We are very excited about Lego Masters It will redefine family entertainment in 2019 because there’s no greater brand that resonates more with families than Lego.”

It screens in 2019.

  1. If I do watch this, it’ll have to be recorded because I expect it’ll be in the same format as MKR and The Block with unnecessary back stories, recaps and after the event in studio narration by the contestants telling us how things are progressing even though they completed it already.

  2. I don’t see Lego Masters doing well – far too niche to gain traction.

Also, I am surprised that Hamish is going solo in hosting – Not only would it add name value to the show by having both Hamish and Andy but I would have thought that having co-hosts would suit the format better (not unlike Great Bake Off)
