Here comes Judge Jerry

“For the first time in my life, I am going to be called honourable,” says Jerry Springer.

He’s had a daytime talk show, and an opera penned around its antics and now Jerry Springer is to have his own syndicated court show, Judge Jerry.

He moves to the new project after production stopped on The Jerry Springer Show in June after 27 years (yep, it was still going). Springer is a former lawyer who was a partner in the law firm of Grinker, Sudman & Springer from 1973 to 1985.

“For the first time in my life, I am going to be called honourable,” Springer said. “My career is coming full circle and I finally get to put my law degree to use after all these years.”

Judge Jerry will merge Jerry’s talent for connecting with people, his incredibly relatable and funny personality and his legal training and governing experience to bring viewers a more entertaining court show,” said Tracie Wilson, executive vice president of creative affairs for NBCUniversal Television Distribution. “We are so happy to continue our fantastic partnership with Jerry, who is a proven TV icon with a dedicated and broad fan base.”

NBCUniversal has already sold Judge Jerry to stations covering 75% of US households.
