Auditions: Mainland Tonight

Community TV is looking for a late night host, to front episodes filmed in Melbourne.

An upcoming Community TV show to be filmed in Melbourne is looking for TV host (and yes the position is paid).

Even the writers on Mainland Tonight will be paid, a rarity in Community TV.

“The show will incorporate elements such as monologue, desk segments, sketch and interview.
Hence, we’re looking for a jack of all comedy trades: funny when performing scripted material off autocue and from memory, funny off the cuff (less important), half-decent sketch comedy acting chops, a good presenter and generous interviewer,” a casting notice says.

Season 1 will consist of 6 x 30min episodes to be broadcast live on WTV Perth, Facebook and YouTube (but filmed in Melbourne in February & March 2019 in front of a studio audience.

The project has a Community Broadcasting Foundation grant, the third awarded to producer Dean Watson.

Applications close 9th December and more info is here.
