Head of Children’s TV departs 10

Cherrie Bottger has departed 10 after 18 years with the network.

10’s Head of Children’s TV Cherrie Bottger has departed after 18 years with the network.

Bottger enjoys considerable industry respect for overseeing all Childrens’ commissioned works, acquisitions, in-house productions, international and local drama co-productions, programme development and documentary.

She was previously Director of Children’s TV at Nine Queensland and an Executive Producer in Children’s TV at Seven.

Screen Producers Australia CEO Matthew Deaner said, “She has been a shining light in an often challenging area, was central to forming a real sense of community among all involved in children’s production and will always be held in the highest regard from producers and key creatives through to broadcast executives.”

Producer Jonathan M. Shiff (The Bureau of Magical Things, Mako Mermaids, H2O: Just Add Water) added: “Cherrie has been a close friend and mentor to me for decades. Her unstoppable passion and clear understanding for entertaining the Australian children’s audience is without peer, making her a national treasure. I wish her all the very best for her next adventure.”

Her replacement is yet to be announced.
