Geraldine Hakewill in Miss Fisher spin-off is coming to Thursdays.

Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries is coming to Thursday nights on Seven.

The spin-off from Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries starring Geraldine Hakewill, Joel Jackson, Catherine McClements & Toby Truslove will be telemovie length episodes. The first episode also features Andrew McFarlane, Libby Tanner and Maria Mercedes.

In 1964, the gorgeously reckless Peregrine Fisher is rocketed from a lonely, dissatisfying small-town life, into a career as a fearless investigator, supported by a coterie of remarkable women who help her follow in the footsteps of her famous Aunt Phryne.

Summonsed from her coastal home to claim her rightful inheritance, the unstoppable Peregrine Fisher manages to inveigle her way into a murder investigation. Glamorous model Barbie Jones is found dead, perched on top of a designer wedding cake prop during a fashion parade by respected designer and much-loved Adventuress, Florence Astor. Undercover in the glitzy world of feuding department stores, Peregrine is faced with a hotbed of extra-marital affairs, sexual harassment, high-end corruption and the unavoidable reality of vanishing beauty.

8:30pm Thursday February 21 on Seven.

  1. It looks alright. I’ll check it out. I always give new Australian drama a shot considering how many crap reality shows dominate the schedule. How long is the series though? I know the AFL starts soon and first 6 weeks are Thursday matches (although don’t know how many are on Seven).

    1. There are four 2 hour telemovies in this series. Assume it stays in the Thursday timeslot, the final episode should air on March 14, one week before the AFL season starts on March 21.

  2. This looks good. It’s a shame the ABC didn’t pick this up though. It will be full of ads on Channel 7. It’s airing against Gogglebox so looks like a lot of people won’t watch it ‘live’ anyway and will be able to fast forward through the ads
