Aussies land new US roles

New US projects for Julian McMahon & Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Two Aussie actors have secured new roles in US productions.

Julian McMahon is joining the FBI spin-off FBI: Most Wanted for CBS while Kodi Smit-McPhee lands true-crime drama Interrogation for CBS All Access.

FBI: Most Wanted will follow the division of the FBI tasked with tracking and capturing the notorious criminals.

McMahon will play Jess LaCroix, described as an “agent’s agent” who is at the top of his game, and oversees the team.

Meanwhile Kodi Smit-McPhee (Gallipoli, Deadpool 2) has been cast in true-crime drama Interrogation for CBS All Access.

Interrogation is an original concept based on a true story that spanned more than 30 years, in which a young man (Kyle Gallner) was charged and convicted of brutally murdering his mother. He is sentenced to life in prison and spends the next two decades fighting to prove his innocence.

Smit-McPhee will play a troubled and homeless teen who meets Gallner’s character at a drug-rehabilitation centre, where they became quick friends. To those who met him he was remembered as mysterious and known for his violent confrontations over drugs and sex.

Peter Sarsgaard and David Strathairn also star. Episodes will made to be watched in any order, jumping back and forth in time, in multiple timelines. It may be a contender for 10 All Access in Australia.
