Queen to perform at Oscars

Adam Lambert + Queen are set to rock the Oscars on Monday.

This is a bit like my worlds colliding…. Queen will perform at the Academy Awards next Monday.

Current frontman Adam Lambert will join with Brian May and Roger Taylor for the ceremony set to overrun its 3 hour allocation after trimmed categories were restored to the Live broadcast.

Queen join previously-announced performers Jennifer Hudson, Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga and Bette Midler. Yep, Bette Midler is also on the bill.

Nine will screen the event live from 12pm AEDT on Monday with a primetime repeat on 9GEM from 7:30pm.

  1. Bragging I know but I saw Bette Midler perform in New York last year and she was every bit as good as I was told she would be. This makes me want to take the day off to watch it live.

  2. They should start the performance with Rami Malek coming out dressed as Freddie first.
Even if he doesn’t actually do the singing (maybe mime), it would rock the house!.

  3. Be a nice touch if they brought out Marc Martel for a bit seeing he did the vocals for the film to fill it all out for the cinema sound, he’s wonderful in Queen Extravaganza the cover band Roger Taylor put together. Saw them back in September at the Palais Theatre and he absolutely blew me away, was called the The Ultimate Queen Celebration here though, prefer Martel over Lambert to be honest, Lambert did have bit part in the film of course.
