2 part special with Scottish comedian will air on Seven from next Monday.

Seven will screen Billy Connolly: Made in Scotland from Monday next week.

Described as “an intimate, deeply personal and funny portrait of the great comedian” this is a 2 part special debuted in the UK in January.

The final episode of Instant Hotel has been bumped to a 10pm timeslot.

Called the Beatles and Jesus of comedy by his peers, his sheer talent and force of personality changed the face of comedy forever.

Weaved around private interviews, this two-part special finds Billy returning to Scotland to reveal the influences and motivations that made this comedy legend the man he is today.

The program made international headlines and sparked an outpouring of affection for the colourful comic as he spoke candidly about his health.

A ratings triumph lauded by critics who called it a “shining gem of a show” which “tugs at the banjo and heart strings.

9pm Monday March 18 on Seven.

  1. I saw this a while back. It’s not your typical series from the Big Yin. It’s more a love letter on film to Scotland and his fans; very contemplative. Still a very worthwhile 2 hours. First series I’ve seen him in where I’ve really noticed how ill he is. It’s gonna be a very sad day when he goes, but as sign-offs go… this is pretty damn good.
