Aussies Shalom Brune-Franklin (Our Girl, Bad Mothers, Doctor Doctor) and Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why, Love, Simon) have both been cast in a new UK drama for Netflix, Cursed.

Cursed, based on an upcoming book of the same name, is a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of the young woman who would become the Lady of the Lake. Cursed is a coming-of-age story with themes familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious zeal and oppression, senseless war and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.

The series also features Devon Terrell (Barry), Gustaf Skarsgård (Westworld, Vikings), Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead, Medici), Peter Mullan (Ozark), Lily Newmark (Pin Cushion), Sebastian Armesto (Poldark, Broadchurch), Emily Coates (Flack), Catherine Walker (Versailles, The Delinquent Season) and Billy Jenkins (The Crown, Holmes & Watson, Humans).

The series is created and executive produced by Frank Miller (Sin City, 300) and Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots, The Cape) who is also showrunner and writer.

The series will begin filming in March 2019 in England and Wales.
