  1. David do you know why this year they decided to not broadcast the Good Friday Appeal until midday? I know on Sunrise and The morning show they had the number up in the corner and crossed to it but every other year it had started at 9. I just wondered why the change this year.

      • Yes I thought that was odd too given a chunk of the afternoon has recently been lost to the football. Perhaps it was a staffing issue due to personalities like Kochie and AOK being unable to attend. (Assuming Kochie wasn’t there as Port was playing in Perth). Or maybe it’s a cost cutting measure….

      • Seems to me that Channel 7 has drastically watered down it’s commitment to The Good Friday Appeal. The heart and soul of it completely extracted. 12pm start. Football replacing 2 hours of it. 7pm night show just a series of wooden and robotic autocue reads and poorly thought out parlour games. This years crop of MKR wannabees eating a sandwich was the worst TV I have ever seen. The Sunrise weather guy and Hans The German the only redeeming features. At least they knew how to keep a segment moving, snappy and to the point. Not even sure his name but the guy hosting at the end seemed like he was asleep. Asking the lead from Muriels Wedding the most pointless and boring questions. Why didn’t someone think to get her to sing a song from the show?!?! Just a sad reflection that 7 has lost it’s stable of stars and crew that used to be able to come in and make this entertaining TV.

    • Seven News didn’t air until 7pm in Melbourne, thus giving Nine a massive boost at 6pm and affecting Seven (because of the Good Friday AFL).
