Tonight on The Feed is a contentious question of whether teens should be educated on Porn?

“Porn School”
Should teenagers learn how to watch porn in school? Experts say generations of young men and women are growing up with warped views of sex. Tonight we follow one educator into a Melbourne high school to teach a lesson on porn and hear from families on both sides of the debate. Is a Porn 101 class the answer? Plus, Marc Fennell chats with Lupita N’Yongo, the star of Black Panther, 12 Years A Slave, Star Wars and more.

8:30pm Thursday on SBS VICELAND.

  1. These people have absolutely no idea.

No other generation in history has had such easy (and discreet) access to pornography. In the past, one either had to procure videos (available since the 70s, and porn wasn’t so easily accessible), magazines (photography hasn’t been around for that long either), and prior to that, brothels and sex shows (and their attendance was not commonplace).

No wonder people nowadays have such distorted and perverse views of sexuality. Kids these days have already seen it all by the time they lift up the frock on the wedding night, to paraphrase Blackadder.

The only way to combat rising sexual assault is to addressing the root causes. Pornography desensitises people to sexuality and devalues intimacy. If statistics are anything to go by, professing “outrage” and popularising hashtags has done absolutely bugger all. It’s time to get real.
