Fans welcome Duncan Laurence home in Netherlands

Eurovision winner Duncan Laurence has been swarmed by fans and press as he arrived home at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam. His grandmother was also amongst the welcome party.

In the evening, a TV studio full of former Dutch participants were waiting for him – and he was awarded a double platinum record for his winning song, “Arcade”.

Laurence won in Tel Aviv on the weekend, defeating Italy and Russia for the top prize. It was The Netherlands’ first win in 44 years.

A host city and date for 2020 is yet to be determined with Amsterdam and Rotterdam expected to be the front runners.
