Osher Günsberg to host The Masked Singer

Bachelor host returns to hosting a music talent show for 10.

Osher Günsberg is returning to host a music talent show for 10, fronting upcoming series The Masked Singer.

That makes it 4 network shows for the exuberant host, alongside The Bachelor,  The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise (if that doesn’t get him a nomination next year, I don’t know what will…?).

“I’m so excited to be a part of a big, loud entertainment show for Network 10. The Masked Singer Australia is such an out-there show, such a wild format, and I can’t wait for people to see it,” he said.

“While lately, I’ve been whispering very seriously about roses, this is a very different side of what I do, and I’m thrilled that we’re doing it.”

Last night at the Logies Günsberg debued 2 Australian costumes, a singing prawn and wolf.

The series produced by Warner Bros. Australia is due on 10 later this year.

An unmissable family event, The Masked Singer Australia will feature celebrities facing off against one another with one major twist: each singer is disguised head-to-toe in an elaborate costume to conceal their identity.

Osher will be joined by an exciting panel of superstars that will try to guess the identity of the celebrities under the masks. Stay tuned for the announcement of the big name panellists coming soon.

  1. I’d be backing an ex Idol / Voice contestant as a masked singer, followed by a comedian, Ch 10 in house celeb and former Neighbours / Home & Away star.

  2. I don’t understand how the acoustics of singing beneath a plastic head or whatever style of mask won’t affect the sound of the vocals… but am pleased for Osher and always enjoy him on my screen.

  3. Sounds like fun. Osher was a great host on Idol, so happy with the choice. Even though he hosts The Bach franchise, he has very little screen time, so he doesn’t feel over exposed to me. But who will be the judges? Ex idol singer, English or American import, older Aussie singer..

  4. Oh God flipping no. I usually praise 10’s bold programming choices but (nothing against Osher) this show is one of the most execrable TV concepts I’ve heard of in yonks.

  5. I agree with you kadacki – except I am not really a fan. He has an air of desperation in his need for fame that feels a bit awkward. I guess if over exposure causes a stumble, he can always change his name…again.

  6. Looking forward to The Masked Singer, it’s sure to be awesome if ‘the prawn’ and ‘the wolf’ look so good, as well as America’s love of the show! I feel 10 & Warner Bros. want to go all out this year…
