Marcus Graham out of The Heights
Almost everybody returned to the ensemble of ABC serial.

Earlier this week ABC announced a renewal of its Perth-based serial The Heights.
That was great news given the show hasn’t exactly fired in its challenged timeslot of 8:30pm Fridays.
But some readers noted Marcus Graham’s name was not in the renewal announcement.
A Matchbox Pictures spokesperson told TV Tonight, “Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, Marcus was unavailable for Series 2.”
That’s a shame given “Pav’s” storylines with “Claudia” (Roz Hammond) and a certain cliffhanger moment at the end of the season.
How will writers resolve this one….?

I like Marcus Graham I have seen him on stage but with the right recast it will still work.
Like you said, its a real shame given the cliffhanger. Is there any hope he could return in the second part of the season?
In a soap you always try to keep the door open. S3 perhaps?
I knew it, he had other projects lined up.
Wow. I am super impressed this show has been renewed. I had wrongly assumed otherwise. It is edgy, real and deserving of a much better time slot. Thanks Ita.
Shame, but Shannon wasn’t a full time character, they could just say that she ran off again and took Patch with her…
Not sure what that has to do with Marcus Graham and his character?
There have been plenty of recasts in Australian television drama as well.
To cite one current example, and this may surprise some, but Irene (Lynne McGranger) on Home & Away was originally played by another actress.
It’s certainly not a mere U.S. thing.
God, I’d completely forgotten about Jacquy Phillips
I wonder if they considered a recast like American soaps do
Boo. I get it but still 🙁
Also means Mich will have to move back to his Mums.
