A Big Brother island?

What if Big Brother headed to the former site of Australian Ninja Warrior?

It’s Friday… time for a bit of fun…

Never mind the glamping…. what if Big Brother 2020 was on an island? Cockatoo Island perhaps?

Is the former site of Australian Ninja Warrior on the list of possible locations for the new Endemol Shine season on Seven? They have experience shooting big ticket TV there already.

It would make a dramatic backdrop, especially for drone shots, if a house were constructed inside one of the island’s many buildings. The sense of isolation would also work well.

Ninja had to vacate the location due to late night outdoor shoots and noise, but BB is a different beast, particularly if there are no Live eviction audiences.

TV Tonight hears Seven is yet to lockdown its house plans with ESA, but as both are looking for a brand new way for this game Cockatoo Island could be a striking refresh.

  1. With all the reality TV contestants currently in trouble with the law maybe filming Big Brother in a prison would save some time lol. Big Brother: The Great Escape.
I can see channel 9 reviving a certain TV drama series soon…. Underbelly: Reality TV

  2. Okay don’t crucify me but…does anyone else watching Love Island feel like it’s basically Big Brother (complete with pool, naked showers, shared bedroom, challenges and diary room). And it’s done pretty well. If BB isn’t going to be live, won’t be at Dreamworld and the housemates will be the one’s doing the evicting well…Love Island isn’t much different to that.

  3. If this was Live, with the big crowds for the Evictions, this would look awesome – Every eviction would feel like an Event TV – a big amazing spectacle

It still would look cool for in a Pre-Recorded format (I’d imagen a lot of dope drone shots), but it doesn’t have that spark.

  4. Love it! The night time scenes would be a bit swish!! While we are having a bit of fun, I reckon Black Mountain Tower in Canberra would be pretty cool, not much going on in the revolving levels, I’m sure they’d be available, it would be kind of surreal. Great backdrop. On eviction night they could speed up the revolutions and open a window. Standby boats in Lake Burley Griffin.

    1. It’s fully open to visitors and the camping, so no way they can block off a section for weeks on end.

Australian Ninja Warrior only shot over a couple of nights
