Seven News leads ratings week

Ratings: Interest in news events has given Seven a strong summer result.

Seven has another week of summer under its belt as interest in news events remains high.

Seven News Sunday was the week’s top show at 943,000 metro viewers.

Seven News has its highest summer share in over 10 years and biggest ever summer margin over Nine News while Sunrise has again won the week, widening the gap over Today.

Seven Director of Programming, Angus Ross said “We are delighted with Seven’s comprehensive victory for the summer to date, across the whole day and in all key demographics. We are looking forward to February when our leading platform of news and sport is joined by more bricks in the wall, including Rebel Wilson’s Pooch Perfect and MKR: The Rivals.”

This week Nine will boost the competition with the Australian Open underway.

  1. To be fair, the above end of week shares look very close between Seven and Nine, it’s not like Nine have been thumped and they’ve got a huge two weeks ahead before Married now. Also 9Gem’s tennis events have been pretty big.
