New Q&A set
Monday was a busy day for lifting the curtain on new sets at ABC.

Q&A unveiled its brand new set last night from ABC’s Melbourne studio.
Gone is the big desk with the host in the central chair. New host Hamish Macdonald now sits at the end of a more open forum.
Macdonald is also freed up to rove into the audience for longer engagement with audience members, as well as on a “floating” platform.
Together with its new executive producer, the show’s “town hall forum” may have just got a shot in the arm for 2020.

When Hamish suddenly walked into the audience last night, it reminded me of his Ten Late News days appearing from all corners of the studio to keep things interesting – https://tvtonight.com.au/2012/06/wheres-hamish.html
Nice to see him inject a fresh take on the format
Engaging show last night with Hamish settling into host duties. and the set looks great.
It looks like the Q&A set was inspired by the QI set.
The panellists will have to wear pants now 😀
Why has it moved to Melbourne and is that permanent?
No. Q&A moves around.
They previously used a Flinders St Station backdrop to emphasise the Melbourne eps, even those filmed in Dandenong…
Cripes…Aunty is changing everything…..seems to have have a younger bent….trying to capture a different audience?
they jusy decided to ditch the oversized Stst Trek set
Q&A…Morning Breakfast…Insiders…all have new sets…
All three you mentioned have new hosts. Good time to refresh.
I guess sets need to be refreshed, but it seems a little odd that all this is happening at a time when management is claiming that government budget cuts are biting. Personally, I would prefer that they spent their budget on content.
