Renewed: The Bold and the Beautiful

Long-running US soap renewed for 2 more seasons, as it looks to a June re-start.

Long-running US soap The Bold and the Beautiful has been renewed for Seasons 34 and 35.

Now in its 33rd year, the daytime soap averages over 3.2 million viewers.

“For over three decades, The Bold and the Beautiful has been a cornerstone of the CBS Daytime lineup,” said Amy Reisenbach, Exec Vice President Current Programs, CBS Entertainment. “The show has been a creative and ratings success due to the supremely talented cast, writers and producers that Brad Bell has assembled. Of course, none of this would have been possible without B&B’s dedicated fans, whose passion for these characters and stories is unsurpassed. We are delighted to be able to continue to offer them a daily look into the romances and rivalries between the Forrester, Logan and Spencer families.”

“I am thrilled to dive into years 34 and 35 of The Bold and the Beautiful,” said executive producer Bradley Bell. “We are grateful to Amy Reisenbach and everyone at CBS for their incredible commitment to the series. Of course, many thanks to our loyal fans who motivate us every day with their unending passion and enthusiasm.”

The news follows its production shutdown due to coronavirus restrictions. Deadline notes the show had about 4-6 weeks worth of episodes in the can when the production shutdown began March 17, but is currently getting ready to resume in June if safety guidelines are met in compliance with local regulations.

The Bold and the Beautiful screens in Australia on 10, which is currently screening classic episodes.

  1. This is great but unsurprising news. I just wish the show was more than love triangle storylines. I wish we had General Hospital in Australia. Now that is drama!!!

  2. Golly, I’ve been working from home for two months and have forgotten to tune into this at all. I personally find the actress currently playing Hope really terrible, and the plots all seem to revolve around her and Liam, so I tuned out. But I’m pleased for the renewal. It never takes long to catch up when you start watching again!

  3. I presume that the 3.2 million viewers is for the USA, and that these viewers must be the rusted on older fans.
You cant help feeling that this soap has lost it’s lather in recent years as it tries to remain relevant and attract a younger audience. In my opinion the show was never the same after Ronn Moss’s ‘Ridge’ left. the recent nostalgic B&B reruns show how superior the past episodes were to today’s tired, repetitive looking B&B offerings.
