His obsessions are joined by a new agent, Mille Sabords (Louis Garrel), who tries to approach the Saudi secret services while investigating the sacrificial victim Paul Lefebvre. Another collateral victim of Malotru’s disappearance – Cesar, the genius geek, who infiltrated the best cyber-attackers of the FSB who are now preparing a large-scale operation.

Das Boot (Season Two)

Critically acclaimed drama Das Boot returns with a new season, pairing three tension- fuelled storylines with intensive character studies exploring how the human soul can become twisted by war.
It’s December 1942, and U-boat ace Johannes von Reinhartz (Clemens Schick) is handed a new secret mission to transport three saboteurs to the US East Coast on board U-822. When his loyalty is questioned, U-612 – with its CO Wrangel (Stefan Konarske) – is sent in pursuit. Having escaped certain death out on the Atlantic, former U-612 CO Hoffmann (Rick Okon) finds shelter in New York with Sam Greenwood (Vincent Kartheiser), who owes his life to Hoffmann. He meets sleazy German-born lawyer Berger (Thomas Kretschmann), but will Berger help Hoffmann to return home and clear his name?
Back in La Rochelle, Simone (Vicky Krieps) and her roommate Margot (Fleur Geffrier) battle to secure an escape route for a Jewish family, but Forster (Tom Wlaschiha), Head of the Gestapo, is watching their every move.

  1. Not sure where ‘critically acclaimed’ would come from for’The Boat’-the film/mini series of 30 odd years ago certainly was but the series is pretty silly in comparison.

  2. I’m pleased The Bureau is back, it’s been a consistently well written spy yarn full of French chauvinism as the DGSE indulges itself playing political games with the CIA.
Das Boot was a surprise renewal as Europe tends to shy away from WWII Nazism especially in Germany, I would guess foreign sales must have been good. There’s plenty of scope for this series to last a while.

    1. I would add that Israel’s False Flag season 2 is a good binge show and well paced as a thriller, as is DNA which after a erratic start settles into being a good weekends viewing, though the story maybe a bit difficult to watch for some.

  3. SBS on demand has some really great content from all around the world and it’s free. There’s everything from first fun TV shows to classic movies. I particularly like the classic movies and there are so many to choose from.
