If you’re in the mood for a virus drama (not me) then SBS on Demand will screen The Hot Zone next week.
The 6 part Ebola Virus story, based on the best-seller by Richard Preston, sees former Good Wife actress Julianna Margulies star as Dr. Nancy Jaax.
It also features Topher Grace, Liam Cunningham, James D’Arcy, and Noah Emmerich.
This screened last year on National Geographic (review here).
The Hot Zone, based on the eponymous international best seller by Richard Preston, recounts the terrifying true story of the origins of the Ebola virus, a highly infectious deadly virus from the central African rain forest, and its first arrival on U.S. soil.
In 1989, when this killer suddenly appeared in chimpanzees in a scientific lab in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., there was no known cure.
A heroic U.S. Army veterinarian (Julianna Margulies) working with a secret military Specialised team put herself in mortal peril when she tried to head off the outbreak before it spread to the human population.
The Hot Zone is a dramatic, hair raising account of a rare and lethal virus and its impact on the human race.
Thursday, 2 July on SBS On Demand.

The book was a great read, must’ve come out over 20 years ago. Hope the series doesn’t veer off it too much.
