Simon Hill departs FOX Sports

"I will not be returning to your screens once the A-League season resumes next month," says football presenter.

FOX Sports presenter Simon Hill has announced he is leaving the broadcaster after 14 years.

He is one of many whose Foxtel contracts are expiring on June 30 under cost-cutting measures.

“Just letting you know I will not be returning to your screens once the A-League season resumes next month,” he wrote on Twitter.

“My contract at FOX ends on Tuesday. While I will miss bringing the A-League and other football to you, it nevertheless gives me a chance to pursue other opportunities, on which I’ll hopefully have more news shortly

“In the meantime, I have enormous confidence in the game and its potential in Australia.

“Thanks to all of my colleagues and the players, coaches and officials I’ve had the pleasure to meet – but most of all, thanks to all of you for listening to me down the years and for giving me a million brilliant memories.”

Hill becomes the fourth profile sports presenter to depart a broadcaster in the last 10 days, including Sam Newman (Nine), Craig Foster (SBS) and Jim Wilson (Seven).

  1. As Fox Sports many other commentators also commentate on basketball, AFL, NRL etc besides NRL/A League/AFL,etc Simon may have been seen as one dimensional only doing A League
