The Crown season 5 delayed to 2022

But season 4 is still set to screen this year.

Season 4 of The Crown is due later this year, but Season 5 with Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II is delayed until 2022.

Filming on Season 5 won’t begin until June next year, meaning no new episodes will screen in 2021.

Deadline reports filming break has always been part of The Crown’s production schedule and is not related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Season 5 also sees Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret with other casting to be confirmed.

A sixth and final season will shoot in 2022.

  1. The production delay is likely due to cast and crew scheduling, especially if the sixth season was originally only optional.
The Crown is arguably one of only a few TV series that could remain a viewers choice after an extended production break.

    1. Not sure if you are aware of what is going on in the world, but there is a pandemic. Such a lavish series that just doesn’t film on a studio backlot, you would expect a delay.

    2. There there if you want to know what actually happens just Google “The Queen” and you will find out the rest of the story if you cant wait for that long
