Veteran actor Alan Arkin will not be returning for the third and final season of Netflix comedy The Kominsky Method -but the move is not tied to the pandemic.
The Hollywood Reporter notes he made the decision to leave after Season Two dropped late last year. His absence will be written into the upcoming third season.
The series follows Douglas as Sandy Kominsky, an ageing former actor-turned-acting coach and his agent and friend Norman Newlander (Arkin).
Arkin has been nominated for both Emmy (including in this week’s presentation) and Golden Globe Awards for his performance, while the series has won two Golden Globes.
An episode count and return date have not yet been announced.

A pity, he was the best part of the show for me.
Oh dear. Love this show but not sure how the third season will go without one of the main characters!
