Alan Fletcher, Stefan Dennis in COVID video for NHS

Neighbours stars Alan Fletcher and Stefan Dennis have been recruited to assist in a COVID video for Britain’s National Health Service.

Alan Fletcher, who plays Dr. Karl Kennedy, has told The Age, “I was thrilled to be asked to help because for me the UK is really a second home. For the last 20 years I’ve been over at least once a year. This is probably the first year I won’t get over. I have friends there, I have family there.

In this video Fletcher & Dennis say they have download an NHS tracing app “to protect my Neighbours” (although oddly both are based in Melbourne).

Nevertheless, both are recognised by Brits given the show’s enduring popularity, and gave their time freely to assist in safety messaging.

“My heart goes out to anyone who has suffered in the UK and I love doing any small thing I can to help promote good practices,” said Fletcher.

“To be honest, I feel safer working at Neighbours than I do in the supermarket,” he added.

“I get a lot of feedback from people saying they love their half-an-hour of Neighbours at the end of the day because it just takes away the constant coronavirus presence that hangs over people.”

Lucky Izzy (Natalie Bassingthwaighte) wasn’t roped in to the video too, might have been a bit derailed otherwise…!
