Bill Bailey to host SBS VICELAND series

Comedy panel show features teams of Kiwi & Aussie comics battle over Trans-Tasman rivalry.

British comedian Bill Bailey (Black Books, Never Mind the Buzzcocks) will host Patriot Brains coming to SBS VICELAND this year.

Due to film soon in New Zealand, the comedy panel show features teams of Kiwi and Australian comics who will battle over Trans-Tasman rivalry: Who has the best road movie? Who’s got the most confusing outdated law still in effect? And which country has the better Prime Minister?

“I am very much looking forward to hosting Patriot Brains, and a chance to referee a spirited international debate between two rival countries, which could end up as a right old ding-dong. A ding-dong which I hope to be thought-provoking, informative and hilarious,” he told stuff.co.nz.

Visas and MIQ stays have been confirmed for everyone travelling to New Zealand to take part in filming. It premieres on TVNZ after Easter but dates for SBS VICELAND have not been announced.

  1. The first two eps are up on SBSOnDemand now, David ~ in case this slipped by you (though you’re probably waiting for a Viceland air date before you run it again)

Really surprised ABC didn’t fight for this, it would play really well on a Wednesday night.
