Report: Georgie Gardner contract renewal

Nine News presenter Georgie Gardner has renewed her contract at a reduced rate, according to media reports.
The Sunday Telegraph reported Gardner lobbied for an increase on a rumoured $800,000 salary.
It claims she accepted a $300,000 salary for Friday and Saturday night duties as as well as occasional fill-in for Peter Overton.
A spokeswoman for Nine said: “Georgie renewed her contract last year and everyone at Nine is extremely proud to have her as an important member of the Nine News team. Her deal with Nine is on mutually agreeable terms that both are extremely happy with.”

Great gig if you can get it. $300k for 2hrs on-air a week. Im sure the ABC breakfast team would love a taste of that.

I think Georgie is worth every penny. She is an invaluable member of their team. Great presence and warmth on screen and knows how to modulate her affect for the never ending tonal shifts in a bulletin. I wish i could say the same for one of the longest running presenters on the ABC. It make such a difference when there is a genuine personality and appropriateness for the story being read. Rant over. 🙂
