A small number of operational / technical roles have been made redundant at Nine in Melbourne.
The Australian reports around 10 roles have gone including floor managers, lighting and production.
A Nine spokesperson confirmed: “A handful of technical and operational staff from Nine Melbourne were recently made redundant.
“This was due to changes in our technology and also operational structure which meant the roles were impacted.“
Further changes may be looming with Nine to move to WIN News bulletins after June.
Nine is looking to redeploy roles on its regional bulletins in Victoria, NSW and Queensland, but it isn’t yet clear if any redundancies will be involved.

No surprises here. Look at TCN 9 in Sydney when they moved to North Sydney and decided to go remote cameras without operators. More broadcast people on the scrapheap!
my good mate at 9 says regional will be 90% redundancies and i think there is around 60 people across the regional newsrooms
Re-arrange the deck chairs and cut costs at the same time.
