2021 Irish thriller Smother will screen on ABC in May.

The 6 part series stars Dervla Kirwan as Val Ahern, a mother who is determined to protect her family at any cost. But when her husband (Stuart Graham) is found dead at a foot of a cliff she attempts to investigate the events that unfolded the night before.

It screened internationally in March.

When Val Ahern’s husband Denis is found dead at a foot of a cliff close to their home the morning after a family party, she begins to interrogate his relationships with his family.

9:20pm Sunday May 9 on ABC.
