Kurt Fearnley to anchor Seven coverage alongside Johanna Griggs & fellow gold medallist Annabelle Williams.

Paralympian Kurt Fearnley (One Plus One) has joined the team for Seven’s Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, alongside Johanna Griggs and fellow gold medallist Annabelle Williams.

They will anchor Seven’s presentation including opening and closing ceremonies.

Fearnley won 13 medals, including three gold, across five Paralympic Games, in events ranging from the 100m relay to the marathon.

“The Paralympic community changed my life, right down to how I see myself as a person. To be able to engage in that community again as part of the Seven team is a huge honour,” he said.

With less than 100 days to go until the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, Seven has launched a campaign with footage of Tokyo 2020 gold medal hopes such as Dylan Alcott, Ryley Batt, Madison de Rozario, Curtis McGrath, Ellie Cole and Scott Reardon.

Coverage begins 16 days after the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 closes. Seven will feature 16 live streams, spanning 18 of the 22 Paralympic disciplines including swimming, athletics, cycling, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby. For the first time, all these events will be live on 7plus.
