Renewed: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon

5 more years for NBC's late night host, but currently homeless in Australia.

The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon has been renewed for a hefty five more years in the USA.

The renewal was revealed during NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation this week.

Although the Tonight Show has fallen behind CBS’ Late Show with Stephen Colbert and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live in total viewership, it has been such a part of the fabric of NBC that its renewal was not in doubt, nor is Fallon as host.

The long-term renewal was reportedly struck around in November during a shuffle of showrunners.

The show previously screened on Foxtel through E! but that ended over a year ago.

  1. Ten is wholly owned by CBS. They already have access to such CBS late night shows as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and the Late Late Show with James Corden.

As such they probably would be reluctant to purchase the Tonight Show from their US rival network NBC.

  2. Why doesn’t ten pick this up for one of their Multis?!? They could even condense it into a half hour highlights show for early evening…
