10 has announced a surprise new panel show The Cheap Seats from Working Dog, to premiere next Tuesday.

From Working Dog, the creators of Have You Been Paying Attention?, comes a Tuesday night companion piece: The Cheap Seats.

Hosted by Have You Been Paying Attention? regulars Melanie Bracewell (ex-New Zealand) and Tim McDonald (ex-Jobseeker), The Cheap Seats takes a comic look back at the week that was.

Major news stories, not-so-major news stories, stories involving cats, entertainment, sport and viral videos, it’s a Reader’s Digest of world events for a generation who simply don’t want to read.

If it was broadcast, released, published, viewed, shared, clicked on, or simply trending for 30-seconds, then it’s likely to be a part of The Cheap Seats.

So get set to experience a new view of the world… from The Cheap Seats.

Tuesday, 20 July at 9.00pm on 10.

  1. Any Working Dog show is definitely going to create interest, but will this show live up to the quality and standards of say The Panel or Santo, Sam and Ed? This is going by the preview only though the set looks very The Project-esque and it looks a bit too formal, cold and empty, which is discouraging but somewhat understandable with the current circumstances. With Working Dog programs, there’s a distinct style and quality about the productions that are appealing and Melanie and Tim have experience from HYBPA?

    There’s not much to go by yet without watching the show.

  2. Looking forward to this – I dont know why they are trying to make it looks so newsy though? looks like a photo from the Project and Melanie looks like a typical newsreader, when she is anything but.

  3. If I remember correctly, Working Dog did a program such as this for channel 10 before 10 replaced it with The Project. I wonder why 10 is embarking on this again. It seems 10 and Working Dog have kissed and made up.
