Restrictions hit Q+A, HYBPA?, Mad as Hell, The Cheap Seats.

ABC & 10 shows recalibrate with Vic. lockdown -including one without an audience for its debut.

With Victoria thrown into a snap 5 day lockdown, studio audiences have already been impacted.

In Melbourne, Q+A last night abandoned most of its audience.

Guest host Virginia Trioli told viewers, “Just a few hours ago we had an audience here planned, of 100 people.

“We’ve pared that right back to just our questioners, given the imminent lockdown.”

Two of 10 shows have fallen in line with restrictions.

Have You Been Paying Attention?, which normally records on Sunday and fellow new Working Dog series The Cheap Seats will both screen without studio audiences next week.

In the past production crews have been able to add some mirth, so fingers crossed….

Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell, which cheerfully welcomed back a studio audience just two weeks ago (for the first time in 18 months) will also be without a crowd next week. It records on Tuesdays.

Melbourne’s snap lockdown is currently scheduled to end at 11:59pm Tuesday night.

  1. I always thought HYBPA? was filmed on Sundays, but last weeks episode spoke of Italy winning the soccer which was early hours Monday morning – so was it filmed Monday this past week or 2 questions filmed and edited in depending on who won?

  2. Mad as Hell is always good, but it has gone up a notch in the past couple of weeks with a studio audience. I think Shaun performs best in front of a live audience.
