Filming for The Block 2022 takes place from late February.

Applications have now opened for The Block 2022.

While rumours around Byron Bay have been swirling, a location is yet to be confirmed.

Successful couples must be available for a 10-12 week shoot period from late February, 2022.

Previous home renovation experience is an asset, but not required from both partners.

Long term couples, family teams and enduring friendships need only apply.

Submissions are accepted from Australia wide.

Successful participants will be paid a nominal weekly fee during filming to cover basic living costs and expenses.

Applications close 18th October, 2021.

  1. Enduring friendships .. that criteria introduced following the young couple with zero experience that met through Tinder and barely knew eachother. Tears and a breakup ensued.

  2. Why would anybody want to appear on The Block? It’s gang-up policy is reminiscent of a prison yard fight. I’m surprised there isn’t more chatter about this show that has nothing to do with renovation but instead attacks the character of every contestant involved. And it’s not just the contestants ganging up, it’s every single cast member as well! What’s happening to us, seeing people’s lives and character destroyed is entertainment?

    1. There’s been a lot of chat about drama vs renovation over the life of the show if you wanted to go back and research posts. To answer your first question, there will always be those who are seeking money (the show gives away a lot), spotlight and who think they will fare better. Some do, some don’t.

      1. Sorry, I wasn’t necessarily referring to TV Tonight when I was talking about “more chatter” it was just a general comment. I will go back and research posts though. I’m interested in what people have to say on the matter.
