  1. Monopoly is never good for the consumer. Channel 9 pushed most games to Stan Sport in Wimbledon and French Open, with only a few selected games on FTA.

Very interested to see now that Stan Sport is live, if Channel 9 continues the trend of pushing games to it, or like last year pushes games not on FTA to the free 9now app.

      1. Channel Nine showed matches from the start of play to the end of play for both RG and Wimbledon, best coverage of tennis we have had in year(probably ever).

I’m going to miss ESPN’s production but if Nine/Stan give the treatment like they have to the other slams this year then it’s great for the sport 🙂

        1. Nah, Nine only showed the games on Centre Court in Wimbledon and the main court in RG but not always. For eg, when Federer was playing Cilic in RG Round 2, that wasn’t on the telly, instead Shopalov was. The only way to watch was Stan Sport.

It’s still okay if it’s Wimbledon, French Open or US Open. But when it’s AO, and on our shores, hoping they will have all games free on 9Now as always and not push them to Stan Sport which is behind a paywall.

          1. They can only one show match at a time. Not sure what else you’re expecting. Stan Sport gave us access to every court for these slams for the first time which was great.

AO does have a different contract so you don’t have to worry about it being on Stan.

  2. Great news let’s hope that 9 will be able to air all the grand final games Live and Free. I’m sure Dylan Alcott will win another years’ worth of grand slams next year.
