ABBA’s new album Voyage -their first in 4 decades- has been released today.

Rolling Stone gave it 4 stars and said it was worth the wait… I’m a little less enthusiastic based on first listen.

However this Sunday night 7NEWS Spotlight screens “Ultimate ABBA” which indicates Benny & Bjorn involvement.

On the release of ABBA’s first album in 40 years, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson host this 7News Spotlight Special Event.

7pm Sunday on Seven.

I have listened to the album a few times now; and the second track ‘When You Danced With Me’ is well worth checking out (there is an official lyric video up on YouTube); it is very very danceable ….. and it has a very heavy Celtic influence and will no doubt become a favourite spin at weddings in that part of the world.

    Will be interesting to see just how much genuine new footage Channel 7 use in tonight’s special. They have certainly recycled their Agnetha interview of some years ago a few times. Anyway, an Abba fan friend of mine was interviewed late last week for this special in her home, and so we are both keen to see what take they have on the long time loyal Abba fans who have been hanging out for new songs for several decades.

  2. I suppose our expectations were high…no new Dancing Queen, Mama Mia or Fernando….2/5 from me on first listen….maybe it will improve if I listen again
