Oops. Seven error on Big Brother voting.

When you are asking viewers to vote for Reality TV competitions it’s important to give out the correct terms and conditions.

Las night Seven told viewers Big Brother voting would close during the broadcast, but without giving a specific time (it was 8:42pm Sydney time when Sonia Kruger announced voting had closed).

Earlier it posted a screenshot indicating “Voting AEST only” which did not factor in Daylight Saving.

That meant by the time Sonia told viewers in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia (and regional viewers in NT), voting was closing, it had already closed in other states.

Perth’s Luke Toki still won the show even though any votes sent during the WA broadcast would not count. Phew.

A Seven source acknowledged the graphic should have indicated AEDT.
