Airdate: 1883

Yellowstone prequel kicks off next week with Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill.

Next week Paramount+ will screen 1883, a prequel to Yellowstone by Taylor Sheridan.

1883 follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land — Montana.

The cast includes Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Audie Rick, Marc Rissmann, Eric Nelsen, James Landry Hébert, and special guest stars Billy Bob Thornton and Graham Greene.

From MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, 1883 is executive produced by Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle and Bob Yari.

Monday December 20 on Paramount+.

  1. The current 2021 Yellowstone season has a few teasers of what to expect in ‘1883’ but they seemed so random as to be confusing, with Yellowstone drifting somewhat in its present story arc it may be a distraction looking at the Dutton family origins from over a hundred years ago, but those who enjoy colonial Westerns will watch it all the same.
