Manu Feildel is returning to My Kitchen Rules in 2022.
The series, which was confirmed at Seven Upfronts, is vowing to return to its roots, but further judges are yet to be announced.
The show has switched to ITV Studios Australia following Seven Studios moving away from producing.
Seven’s Director of Network Programming, Angus Ross, said: “Whichever way you dice it, My Kitchen Rules is Australia’s favourite cooking show, adored by millions. We can’t wait to serve the nation more of what they love: real food, real people, cooking from the heart and of course, more Manu!”
Manu Feildel said: “I’m very excited to return to the head of the table and share my passion for food with you all. I can’t wait to be back in Australian homes again, meeting more incredible home cooks and sharing their food dreams. Bring on 2022!”
ITV Studios Australia CEO, David Mott, said: “It’s an absolute privilege that Seven have entrusted ITV Studios Australia in returning this much loved Australian favourite. It will be the show everyone fell in love with, along with a few new surprises. We cannot wait to get cracking on the casting to find out who will be crowned the winners of My Kitchen Rules 2022.”
Feildel remains popular within Seven ranks, understood to be on a network deal, and was moved to Plate of Origin, Australia’s Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars: All Stars and SAS Australia.
Contestant applications are now open at www.MyKitchenRulesCasting.com.au
Applications close midnight March 13th 2022 AEDT

Good to hear that the show is coming back and will focus on the food. Co host/judge needs to be a Aussie and the best person for the role would be Poh! She relates to everyday people, has great cooking knowledge and skills but most of all has a great sense of humour.
I would’ve preferred a complete refresh but I understand that they have to put Manu somewhere.
I think they should make it more like Come Dine With Me – only have home restaurants rounds – none of that Kitchen HQ nonsense. Less drama, more cooking and humour.
I agree with less drama. Part of the appeal of the earlier seasons was the sociability factor.
I like Manu because I watched MKR for many years and I hope him and the judge do very well for MKR next year.
Hard to fathom the thinking here. 7 milked MKR for all its worth and then some. Fair play, it worked for ages (right up until it didn’t)……I guess they’re desperate for 7.30pm shows.
Surely Sonia Krueger is the yet to be named co-host on MKR. It is on Seven after all.
So are they going to turn this into a drama contest between contestants like they end up doing to most of theses shows?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again , Manu has photos of channel 7 executives 😁.
As Maev….Sydney pointed out Ready Steady Cook, they might do better than MKR which I found became stale to have a RSC revival in a primetime timeslot. It has the factor to potentially do very well, especially if hosted with a charismatic host like Peter Everett or Ainsley Harriott. Manu has some appeal, though it will be interesting to find out who the further judges are.
RSC was a 10 network show…do not know if they still have rights…
I would so invest in a revamp…But…not like the UK one…I do not care for that one..😞.
Ah, so they’re just going to go back to show’s original premise… ripping off Come Dine With Me?
I like Manu …I have from Ready Steady Cook days…but I have never watched MKR.
