Australian Open delivers week to Nine

Tennis gives Nine a decisive week with the AO, just ahead of the Ashes Series.

The arrival of the Australian Open has ensured Nine a winning week of summer.

Its highest audience was Thursday night at 886,000 metro viewers when Daniil Medevev downed Nick Kyrgios.

Nine’s share was technically up on the first week of tennis in 2021, but due to COVID that also fell in the first week of ratings when there was tougher competition.

Seven News (Sunday) was the top rating show of the week at 1.09m. The Ashes Series still scored for Seven at 881,000 metro -much better than the Big Bash League best, just 334,000.

The top rating entertainment show was I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here on Tuesday at 622,000 for 10.
