Whoopi Goldberg reprises her role as Guinan from Next Generation when S2 premieres in March.

Star Trek: Picard Season Two, starring Patrick Stewart, will launch on Amazon Prime Video in March.

Following the premiere, new episodes of the 10 part series will drop weekly.

This season Whoopi Goldberg reprises her role as Guinan from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Season two cast members include Alison Pill, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Orla Brady, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Brent Spiner. This season also includes Annie Wersching and guest star John de Lancie.

Star Trek: Picard is currently in production on a third season.

Season two of Star Trek: Picard takes the legendary Jean-Luc Picard and his crew on a bold and exciting new journey: into the past. Picard must enlist friends both old and new to confront the perils of 21st century Earth in a desperate race against time to save the galaxy’s future – and face the ultimate trial from one of his greatest foes.

Star Trek: Picard features Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard, which he played for seven seasons on “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and follows this iconic character into the next chapter of his life. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. For season two, Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Terry Matalas, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Doug Aarniokoski and Dylan Massin serve as executive producers. Akiva Goldsman and Terry Matalas serve as co-showrunners for season two.

There’s an irony about Star Trek’s obsession with time travel, yet it can’t hold back time for those familiar Star Trek actors who reprise their character roles from time to time. ‘Q’ for example should not look aged and neither should Guinan, both characters can flit around time and space at will. I guess this is the drawback of having long periods of time between various seasons, maybe the army of executive producers and showrunners who like to be seen in the Star Trek credit list should look further ahead in time and develop shows that will actually please older Star Trek fans, dedicated fans who have been left frustrated for quite some time.

  2. As the article above mentions both S2 and S3 were filmed together, although S3 wont be broadcast/streamed until 2023. It’s also been announced that S3 will be the final season of Star Trek: Picard.
