  1. Very good news. It took a while for me to get used to AU Survivor initially, much better now but they could still do without the loud music drowning out quiet conversations and totally agree with maxxdude… I hour once a week.
No filliers…too much time added when Jonathon asks a lot of unnecessary questions at the start of challenges and at tribal council. His questions seem to be always the same and also quite leading, indicating his knowledge of what is going on and wanting to get reactions whereas Jeff’s questions are more relevant and thought provoking getting more insightful answers

Agree, new US version is not as good as previously for me, and although I adjusted I’m hoping they go back to the former format. It gives more time for the people and stories to evolve. Instead of the bang bang bang off you go before we get to know you. And contradicting myself…it is interesting to see how the ones left adjust to the speedy pace and changes to their daily life.

  2. Australian Survivor is currently miles better than what S41 was. It’s still back-to-basics enough to celebrate what we’ve loved about the show and looks incredible. The US version has completely jumped the shark, sadly.

  3. Huge Survivor fan & I used to love the extended Aus Survivor minutes – but it has got wearing. I think 1 ep a week is the right call. 90 mins may be preferable over 60 though, just to give us more time with the contestants.

    1. I do like the AU version, think it is a brilliant production but I agree that the episode lengths can drag on.
At least the AU version though doesn’t strip the episodes per se – whilst there are more episodes per week they feel like they’re essentially structured the same as if they were to air once a week.

  4. Please GO could you please have some closed captioning on Survivor. I haven’t watched it since it moved to Go because there has been no captions. I’m sure many deaf people would love to see captions on Survivor.

  5. Love that it’s fast-tracked. Hate that being filmed straight after S41 means that S42 will likely be just as annoyingly ‘woke’, further ruining a once-great franchise. Give me Survivor AU any day.

  6. maxxdude is right on the money.

People talk about how AU Survivor has more airtime and it means you’re able to see more but instead you get the same idea drummed into viewers 6 or 7 times per episode instead of seeing a balance.

US Survivor does more with less time. I feel like I at least get mostly everyone’s perspective on the game and about who they are as people.

They also don’t have horrendous non elims.

  7. I find it so hard to watch the US Survivor after the Australian version. The local version allows you to connect more with characters and has more twists. I find the US version I do not get as involved as I do with the Australian one.

  8. Unfortunately this was filmed straight after season 41 so don’t expect it to be any better than the last one.
Australian survivor is so much better!!!
