Rumour: Ben Fordham & Brooke Boney pilot?

Nine pilot planned to cross to pubs for election "pub tests" but no word if it is proceeding.

EXCLUSIVE:

TV Tonight hears whispers 2GB’s Ben Fordham and Today‘s Brooke Boney were working on a new pilot for Nine.

Part of the show is understood to have planned live crosses to pubs for “pub tests” during the election campaign.

It isn’t clear if the project is proceeding, with a Nine spokesperson only confirming the network is always developing new programs.

Nine’s Head of Content, Production and Development, Adrian Swift, recently told Screen Forever he was always open to projects to follow early evening Reality shows.

“I’m always interested in things that we can do there. That can be light and breezy like The Hundred or can explore social issues or access factual. I think there’s a real opportunity, still on Nine in that slot,” he said.

Couldn’t be any worse than 2015’s The Verdict which only lasted 8 episodes.

“Everyone in the media wanted to jump on it and kill it straight away. It didn’t quite know what it was to begin with and it took a little bit of time to evolve,” Nine News boss Darren Wick once told TV Tonight.

  1. Sounds like dangerous live television. These events would only attract loud Australians during a election campaign I can’t see it being balanced.
