Technical problem sidelines Nine News Adelaide

Adelaide viewers watch a Melbourne bulletin on Nine after a major technical malfunction.

Nine News Adelaide failed to broadcast locally last night with the network forced to screen a Melbourne bulletin instead.

“Due to a major technical malfunction, we were unable to bring you our bulletin at 6pm,” Nine told viewers on social media.

“We will back as usual tomorrow – thank you for your patience.”

Nine News at 5 was also disrupted, switching to Hello SA before the 6pm Melbourne bulletin.

Back in 2016 Nine’s Mosart system, was behind a string of tech problems, most recently in May 2021 when Sydney viewers saw a fleeting item from Melbourne.

“We have been experiencing some technical issues… stick around, anything can happen,” Cameron Williams told Sydney viewers at the time.

  1. … isn’t it a sad situation when the clueless beancounters who now run what are laughingly called “broadcast organisations” have obviously never heard the words “back-up” or “system redundancy” … oh well, only FTA television – nothing important!!!

  2. On Monday the Today Show started half an hour late in Qld. No explanation on air or social media. I looked on twitter to see what was happening. Nothing. When they finally came on at six they just carried on as though they were starting at normal time. No explanation or anything. Very strange.
