Axed: Magnum P.I., Legacies, Roswell: New Mexico.

Three dramas all end at four seasons in the USA.

The axe has been swinging in the USA, with these Foxtel / Binge titles now largely discontinued.

The Magnum P.I. reboot has been cancelled after four seasons at CBS. The show was a modern take on the original series centering on Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator.

Another reboot, Roswell: New Mexico is ending with its upcoming fourth season. The teen series stars Jeanine Mason, Nathan Dean, Michael Vlamis, Lily Cowles, Tyler Blackburn, Heather Hemmens, Michael Trevino and Amber Midthunder.

Legacies also ends at four seasons. The Originals / Vampire Diaries spin-off was set in The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted. It told the ongoing story of a new generation of supernatural students as they learn what it means to be special in a society that wouldn’t understand their gifts.

  1. This is disappointing I have been enjoying this reboot, Juliet Higgins’ our favourite character. I did see a bit of a spoiler with relation to one of the episodes and I thought if this is happening it is not looking good for a renewal. According to Deadline it is consistently in the top 25 shows, it came down to the cost of the show during negotiations.

      1. The Higgins in a clue. In the past shows were never axed after 4 seasons, as a 5th yielded more syndication revenue. In the streaming age that no linger applies, any show can be cancelled at any time. None of these shows offered anything that what they were copies of didn’t. All Magnum added was UST to the Higgins/Magnum relationship, badly. Even when they remake old scripts they found away to do it much worse with much more money.
