Paul Murray Live: May 26

Paul Murray Live broadcasts from Bundaberg, Queensland, tomorrow.

“As we move past the Covid era, our regions have fallen out of focus. They have been relegated back to where they normally sit, on the periphery of national debate. But at a time when Australia was forced to be self-reliant, where it had no other choice but to be self-sufficient, it was our regions that kept the nation booming. Now, as the regions look to opportunities on the horizon, it’s time to pay them thanks and exercise our patriotic duty and holiday at home. Because the regions deserve the boost they gave us,” said Murray.

The new Our Town episode will highlight how the region has battled over the past two years through the hardships of lockdowns, border closures, trade tariffs and foreign worker shortages, to keep the economy afloat with its coal mines, aluminium smelters and farming.

Paul Murray will catch up with Queensland Nationals Senator, Matt Canavan and Federal Member for Hinkler, Keith Pitt, to shed light on how the regions maintained their self-sufficiency during the pandemic.

The special program will feature Kiri Braid from Macadamias Australia and Tina McPherson from the popular strawberry farm Tinaberries, as two examples of the produce-driven tourist sector that exists in Bundaberg, historically famous for its renowned Bundaberg Rum.

The Our Town program will also feature Bundaberg local hero Sue Tasker, whose charity the Angels Community Group has setup the “Angel’s Mini Mart” to further assist the homeless and struggling families of the region.

Thursday May 26 at 8pm AEST on SKY News.

    1. The opening quote to this story is absolute garbage. None of it is true, and just because Paul said it, doesn’t make it so. What a divisive thing to say to promote your own show.
