Paul Murray Live: Feb 26

'Our Town' series kicks off for 2023 with a visit to Orange this Sunday nght.

Paul Murray Live resumes its ‘Our Town’ series for 2023 from Sunday, broadcasting from locations across the country and highlighting regional communities.

On Sunday it visits Orange, NSW, located in Wiradjuri country.

Paul Murray will speak with Deputy Mayor and owner of Indigenous Cultural Adventures, Gerald Power, to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on local tourism. He will also share stories of the town’s rich gold rush and mining history, highlighting local produce and sites to explore, from the Orange Regional Museum to scenic trike tours.

Paul Murray said: “We’re in our fifth of telling the great stories of the great places in Australia that don’t get enough time in the spotlight. Our show is about coming to town when times are normal, as well as supporting them during times of disaster or crisis. At a time of global uncertainty, I’m glad to go to the smaller towns where people are incredibly resourceful and self-reliant; where they grow their own food, for example, and are not reliant on imports.”

Sunday 26 February at 9pm AEDT on SKY News.

  1. Not to keen on Mr Murray or Sky but will give this a look in. So glad it’s not all about food, it’s my birthplace and there is so much more to offer. Spent many long days as a kid wagging school on the island in this middle of the duck pond in Cook Park, nicking candles and drinking holy water at St James church, wagging school in the storm water drain listening to the traffic wizzing over it in Summer Street. Generally getting up to no good as kids do. Getting the “rattler” train to Sydney an overnight train journey back then. And later in life when visiting dancing on the table at the Canobolas Hotel to the live music. Who says small towns haven’t much to offer. Thanks for the heads up David.
