TV’s big movers in Total TV

These were the biggest shows improving in 7 day viewing from Overnights to Total TV in April.

Killing Eve, The Rookie and La Brea were some of TV’s biggest risers in Total TV viewing in April, according to OzTAM.

The Killing Eve finale grew by more than 97% between its Overnight numbers to 7 day Total TV numbers for ABC.

On 10 the biggest riser was MasterChef Australia, lifting by a further 40%.

Total TV numbers differ from Overnights (5 city metro) by including Regional and BVOD (both Live + catch up) for 7 days.

These lists include the Top 10s in order of change in April (to April 27) above the 20% mark. It’s worth mentioning while SBS had fewer big risers than other broadcasters, in March The Responder grew by 195%.

  1. Even if I am watching show live to air, I will usually stream it, rather than watch the linear channel. Otherwise all catch up. Interesting to see the big changes in viewing behaviour. One day I daresay the idea of flicking to a specific channel number will be irrelevant.

  2. Its good to see what really people watch…..thats why I like Total TV. Only live tv I watch with my family is ABC News, everything else – catch up tv.

    1. I am much the same….I have ABC News on 2nd screen…just pay attention if something grabs my interest…..I watch most things on catch up as I can pause or go back to it if interrupted.

  3. Very informative David. And despite many TVT readers have criticised MCA the results show there is a lift. I haven’t watched it for a few years, but I am thoroughly enjoying it this year. No drama, just a show about food. Good results for ABC too.

    1. I agree with your comment on MCA…but I have watched every season…
I am a ABC fan/viewer….like most of their offerings…but usually watch on iview.
