“What do you think’s gonna happen to a show like mine and a station like ours?”

SKY News presenter Paul Murray impressed upon a studio audience the channel could be impacted by an ALP win.

Audio of SKY News presenter Paul Murray speaking to an audience at Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane on Tuesday night has been published by The Guardian.

In the monologue as part of his warm-up, Murray encouraged patrons to vote for the Coalition, ahead of broadcasting The National Security Pub Test.

Criticising Labor fits with his on-air editorial remarks as a commentator, but here there were even fears for his program and SKY News itself if the ALP won government.

“What do you think’s gonna happen to a show like mine and a station like ours and views like yours if they end up in charge?” Murray asked.

“That’s why it matters. It’s not just any old election.”

He also spoke out on transgenders in sport.

“A sheila with a penis swam faster than a bunch of women without a penis; who has a girlfriend with a vagina; but he is a lesbian,” Murray said. “Welcome to 2022 people.”

SKY News has been contacted for comment.

  1. Maybe if Paul Murray and Sky News really were that worried about what would happen to their show and their network under an ALP leadership; perhaps they should look at their content and ask why they are worried about what would happen to their show and their network.

    — and for this ignorant fool to talk about transgendered people like that, ooft.
